My Journey
Born with an artistic soul, I am a visualizer experimenting with colours, fueled by dreams and a deep love for our Mother Earth. As a devoted mother, enthusiastic learner, and passionate scuba diver, my journey unfolds as a beautiful tapestry of creativity.
Creativity to me is not just an artistic ability; it’s my way of life. It was this creativity that sparked my love affair with fashion. I was fortunate to have my elementary years in fashion moulded by industry stalwarts such as Hemant Trivedi, Neeta Lulla, and Wendell Rodricks. Guided by these pioneers, I transformed my enthusiasm into inspiration and began experimenting with different techniques and materials.
Finding passion in designing women’s accessories, I started Coral Accessories in 2004, my brand of artisanal footwear and bags for women. In 2018, I took a sabbatical to enrich my journey as a designer, pursuing a Master’s degree in Luxury Accessory Design and Brand Management at The Instituto Marangoni in Milan, Italy. When I returned to India in December 2019, I had a new focus: to relaunch my brand in a way that combined design with ecological, sustainable, and reusable fabrics
The March 2020 lockdown was a blessing in disguise, allowing me to integrate my recently acquired knowledge with a newfound commitment to Earth’s protection. Thus, CoralbySeema emerged, a brand reflecting my love for nature and free-flowing creativity.
When people wear my pieces, crafted from hand-dyed, printed fabrics with ingredients from the environment, I want them to feel loved and connected to nature. I am committed to creating an ecologically sustainable brand that will leave an unforgettable impression on the world.
For me, working with natural ingredients has been a transformative journey of healing and a true sanctuary. Giving form to a design and breathing life into it brings about a deeply satisfying sense of gratification and accomplishment. Art has my heart and soul, and I am forever grateful to have found my calling – crafting a beautiful tomorrow for our planet Earth.
